How long should I let my hair grow out?

My hair always used to be long when I was little, like down to my butt, but that was a pain every morning because I remember the agony in the morning when my step dad would comb my hair before I left for school. My hair is very course and if you don't put gel in it, it looks like an afro. LOL When I was thirteen I cut my hair fairly short and I'd spike it,but I only kept it that way until I was fourteen and then I started letting it grow out. I'm sixteen now and my hair touches my shoulders now,but not exactly at the same length because my hair is thick and curly. I'm white and my mom or my dad don't have hair like mine sure it's pretty when you care for it,but in the process of letting it grow out is a challenge, but I'm not going to chop it off now I've been letting it grow for awhile and I'm not going to stop now. I really don't know how long I should grow it out. My mom said as you get older your hair texture changes would that be true for me? Please answer. Thank you.

Well the texture of my hair has been the same since I was nine years old, and I'm 21 now. I personally think medium/long length is pretty. Its got a good length to where you can do stuff with it, and will still have a pretty "flow" look. Yet its not SO long that its un-manageable. Maybe let it grow another inch or two and see how that works for ya! But to answer your question, the texture and curliness in my hair has stayed the same since I was a kid.

you should have you hair at the length to your chin. it'll look very cute that way. my stylist has a haircut like that, and i got it last week. i %26lt;3 it! and it depends on what you consume (about how hair growth changes as you grow up). if you dont take in too many nutrients, then it'll be unhealthy.

Hair texture and color and even curliness change with age for many people as they get older. It doesn't change for everyone.

You need to work with what you have now. Some information on working with all sorts of hair, rather than fighting it, can be found in the public areas of the Long Hair Community.

I've seen how-long-t-grow-it classed as TBD for to-be-decided. You don't need to decide now. You can just go with the grow.
