Why do men who are going bald insist on combing those few strands of hair and then spray it down to

Grasping at the last straws of youth. Gotta love them on a windy day. How about the ones with no hair on top that compensate for it by wearing a pony tail in back. YUCK! I always want to sneak up behind them and cut the damned thing off. What are they thinking?? Nothing like a 60 year old bald man with a comb over and a pony tail. (They more times then not pop in an earring as well, adding to the pathetic nature of it all).

Why do men who are going bald insist on combing those few strands of hair and then spray it down to the side?

What else can they do with them?

Why do men who are going bald insist on combing those few strands of hair and then spray it down to the side?

Because they can't deal with going bald so they like to prolong the whole going bald look by creating an even uglier one. I think they should just cut it off...Looks better.

Why do men who are going bald insist on combing those few strands of hair and then spray it down to the side?

They want to look un-bald. Also, it's the style now for 40+ men--the Trump Combover. Gotta be hip (And businesslike!)

Long, thin hair. How to keep it healthy?

I have long, thin, brown hair. I straighten it quite a lot, but not every day. i use toni and guy heat protection when i starighten itI also like to dye little section black with temporary dye but, again, not all the time.

However, i tend to wash it every day otherwise it does get greasy. I do leave it to get skank if i'm not doing anything though because i know its supposedly good for it. (eww but still)

i have been told to comb the ends of my hair with conditioner to help fix split ends.

so anyway, my questions were what other things can i do to keep my hair healthy so that i can straighten it as and when i please? things like sleeping with stuff on it or whatever would be helpful if anyone knows of anything.

i was gonna ask for any expensive product for christmas because i can't afford it :(

cheeers :]

(sorry for the longness of the question)

Long, thin hair. How to keep it healthy?

They do hair packs in places like ASDA. They are sold near the face packs. These rehydrate your hair and stuff. Other than than, doing what you're doing I guess

Long, thin hair. How to keep it healthy?

You should try the horse shampoo. No joke, why do you think horse have strong hair anyways?

well there is one that you can find in the stores like wal-mart. it's for humans and i believe it comes in a white bottle with a picture of a horse or two on it. i had a friend who used it and every strand of her hair was strong and healthy. she said her secret was that shampoo.

elsewise make sure you leave in your conditioner in your hair for like a minute or two then rinse it out. or you can try damage repair renewal from pantene, it works wonders!

Long, thin hair. How to keep it healthy?

I would do try www.biolustreflorida.com. My girlfriends swears by it and she had damaged and splitends really bad. she said its instant repair. maybe it can help you.

Hair brush or wide tooth comb?

Which is your favorite? Also, if you got in the habit of using leave in conditioner, did it make any difference to your hair?

Hair brush or wide tooth comb?

omg, WIDE TOOTHED COMB!

I recommend it to everyone. It is the best for your hair, as it does not pull it out!

here, this is one of the best:

**TIP**

Comb your hair with a wide-toothed comb when it is wet to prevent breakage.

Hair brush or wide tooth comb?

I like the detangler combs. For me...they hurt less.

Hair brush or wide tooth comb?

hair brush, because it untangles my hair better, but i use wide tooth combs after i take a shower because it wont make my hair poof out.

Hair brush or wide tooth comb?

both. the comb for when i get out of the shower the brush for brushing.

i do use leave in conditioner and it helps add a little moisture to your hair, but use regular conditioner too.

Hair brush or wide tooth comb?

I use a brush for regular hairstyling and a comb to part my hair with.

Hair brush or wide tooth comb?

i like a hair brush...wide tooth combs wont get the tangles out well because theyre wide

...and ive never used "leave-in" conditioner

Hair brush or wide tooth comb?

I use both but I think I use the brush more. I have long think hair and I only use it while it is still wet though. I use it because it seems to work better and don't get as tangled ...That is the only reason. To each their own way. I only use rinse out conditioner..I feel the leave in kind just doesn't make my hair feel clean.

Hair brush or wide tooth comb?

WIDE TOOTH COMB! - definitely. lol

I hate brushes....

Leave in conditioner didn't really do much. Hot oil treatments are pretty good.

But honestly, if you don't go overboard with the hair products, and tools involving heat, your hair should be fine.

All I use is shampoo and conditioner

=D

Hair brush or wide tooth comb?

The straighter your hair- the MORE you can go the Comb route... I have wavy hair that I keep pretty clean, so I can get "Away" with using a Comb on it...(MOST of the Time!). :)

Are there any treatments for excessive hair fall?

My hair is long and thick but I get too much hair fall whenever I comb or rinsing after shampooing?

Are there any treatments for excessive hair fall?

We lose between 50 and 100 hairs a day. When your hair is long and think, you'll notice it more than if it were shorter and light.

If you're finding it excessive, then it wouldn't hurt to visit the doc.

Stress is a biggie for hair loss, but that's not always the case.

You're body also goes through hormonal stages at different points in your life so it may be just as simple as that.

Medication?? On anything? Or anything new? That could do it as well. As long as it's not excessive and theres no bald patches., I wouldn't go running to the doctor's. See how it is in a couple of weeks. In the meantime, you could try changing your shampoo and conditioner. (you are using a conditioner right?? Shampoo alone could be causing this since if your hair is dry, you're actually causing it to come out by yanking on it to get through it!) and then visit your salon for a trim and ask what they think the problom could be. They will also go through your hair (if they're thourough) and notice any small bald patches.

I'm sure it's nothing to get excited about. Hope you find everything is fine!

Good Luck!!

Are there any treatments for excessive hair fall?

I bet you need a multi-vitamin....especially if you're stressed (who isn't, huh?). I lost a big chunk of hair a month or so after my husband came home from the hospital, it was so weird, the doc said it was stress. Good luck!

Are there any treatments for excessive hair fall?

try changing shampoo, you get build up after u use the shapoo for some time. Also try using a leave in conditioner for minimal hair breakage, perhaps a diierenc or pick, dont use a brush.

If these dont work, visit your MD and request some blood work, could need a thyroi d work up, need a more health diet, or have a vitamin deficiecy, never rule out the obvious.

Are there any treatments for excessive hair fall?

this is definately a question for the doc.. there are many reasons for hairfall, diet, hierditary or just change the brand of shampoo because some ingredients ur head might not like..

i used to have long hair.... just changing shampoo helped.

Tremendous hair loss?

I am 29, F, moved from India to USA. I had thick long hair while in India and now all I have is a sorry fraction of what I did, three years back. I have got all hormone tests done, started using shampoos with no SLS, used various oils etc but my problems are not resolved.

My symptoms:

1. I have dry scaly dandruff, white in color with large flakes. Nothing seems to cure this.

2. I have hair loss- hair which just falls from the roots with no stimulus-i.e, no combing or brushing required, hair just falls. Hair loss is unbearable after I wash my hair.

3. I also started getting painful acne at age 27 when I hever had acne as a teenager.

What could be the cause? I have been to numerous dermatologists and no one has been able to determine the cause. It is not genetic as my parents and grandparents didnt have ny of these problems. I do not use any chemicals on my hair, do not use a blow drier or hair products. Is it the water in USA?

Your help is appreicated.

Thanks

Tremendous hair loss?

I have included a link to a condition called telogen effluvium, maybe it will help.

The derm doc I used to work for recommended that women with this condition increase their dietary protein and take B complex vitamins. It seemed to help quite a bit.

Tremendous hair loss?

Hi, i m from delhi, I had taken calcium pentonate tablet 100 mg twice for couple of months and now i have good hair growth and no hair fall. Try this and try putting warm olive oil. maybe yogurt with lil lemon jiuce on the head might get rid of white flakes. All the best, Meanwhile you can also refer to this....
