because when I comb it after I flat iron it some of the waves get back.

Before using a flat iron on your hair you should blow dry it really thoroughly and make sure that the under layers of your hair are completely dry because even if they are only a little bit damp it will still cause the outter pieces of your hair to curl up after flat ironing. You can comb your hair as much as you want after flat ironing but you should also try setting it by using a blow dryer on the "cool" setting. All you have to do is blow the cool air on the outter pieces of your hair and it makes the straightness last longer (I'm not exactly sure why but I saw it on TLC's what not to wear so I tried it and it works well)

When you flatiron each piece of hair use a good spritz with strong hold. Some products are geared toward flatironing so that they hold but don't stick.

Thats just because you didn't flatiron all over and missed spots. have someone else do it so they can get the back and spots you cant see, or use two mirrors.

Some hair wont hold a flat iron job. you may want to try to spray it with a delicate touch of hairspray before you iron it. then spray it afterwards. do not brush until 15 minutes later giving your hair time to hold.

first off you shouldn't comb the hair right after its been flat ironed...b/c once the hair has been ironed the cuticle is closed and the hair will lay flat and shiney if you comb/brush the hair you will open the cuticle and the will not be as shiney and you will have many fly-aways and it will become very static....make sure when your ironing your hair you do so in small sections at a time...this will help to make sure you haven't missed any areas.....when your finished ironing spray the hair with a light defrizzing product (Spoil Me by tigi works great and smells good too)
