What is that razor comb thing stylists use on hair called?

I've always like having my layers ran over with this comb sort of thing with razor blades in it. However, I always feel stupid asking the stylist to use that "comb thing with razor blades in it". Could someone please tell me what this is called so I don't sound like an idiot?

They usually just refer to it as a razor. If you want the real name, just ask your stylist next time you see her.

It is actually called razor cutting. So the best thing to ask is "Could I get my hair razor cut/cut with a razor?". Anyway even if you didn't know the name it isnt your job, it's theirs and I am sure they get people asking like that all the time.

Alot of times our tools have just the simple names you think of. A comb with a razor in it is just that, a razor comb. Some razors have a built in guard, so it is usually referred to as just a razor. Don't be afraid to ask/tell your stylist what you want, it can make our job easier. :)
