Is heat bad for your hair?

I have very kinky hair and to straighten it requires high heat...i want to know how much heat/if any, is "safe" and what blow dryers, hot combs, flat irons etc do to your hair that is damaging.

Is heat bad for your hair?

Yes it dries your hair out and causes things such as split ends. If you are exposing your hair to high amounts of heat you need to use a really good conditioner and possible a spray conditioner. You may also want to do deep conditioning treatments once a week. The deep conditioning should also help your hair to be a little less kinky. Just be careful with flat irons. If turned up to high they could actually burn your hair!

When you're taking a shower, the heat from the steam will open up your hair follicles, making hair easier to fall out if you're having a problem with it falling out already.

Is heat bad for your hair?

Yes. To much heat will cause your hair to break off.
