Can improper care of permed hair cause hair breakage?

k so say a girl around 17 has been getting her hair relaxed ( a perm basically for black people or people with really curly hair) for about 9 years stopped moisterising her hair and giving it comb throughs and stopped washing it on a regular basis would that possibly cause her hair to begin breaking off? What if her hair is very very dr do to the lack of mouserising it?

the lack of moisture would cause the breakage. Relaxing you hair is essentially damaging your hair so you have to take care of it. Moisturize your hair daily!!

wait do u mean breaking off as in split ends or as in like comming off!

Do dead Head Lice stay in the hair unless found with a lice comb?

My daughter has very thick hair that is hard to comb with a lice comb. This is our first experience with Head Lice. I combed my daughter's hair for 4 hours this morning (literally, poor dear) after it was treated and I'm still not certain I got it all. We'll treat it again in a week as instructed but I'm afraid if I don't find them all I coud take her to a hairdresser and she would be vilified. If I miss some are they in there until the hair grows out?

Unfortunately, they are there until the hair falls out or grows out. I had 3 daughters who had gorgeous long hair, and they caught head lice at school. I probably ended up spending at least 20 to 40 hours each combing out the dead stuff. Every night I would sit down in front of the TV and go through their hair with a lice comb. Another thing is that the school may not let them come back (assuming the school knows about the lice or checks for them) until the dead lice and eggs are out. It's a pain and a half! At least with boys you can zip that hair off.

Nits tend to stay on hair strands even after shampooing and combing. You should try to visually check as much of her hair as possible for the nits, I would not worry so much about the dead lice because they can't do anymore damage.

the dead lice should fall out when she washes her hair. The comb is for the eggs. the eggs look like dandruff but need to be pulled off of the stand of hair. just every day for a few days look threw her hair %26amp; check to see if you notice anything like what I described. My neice had headlice for some time. I thoughther parents took care of it so a few weeks after I found out I sent my daughter over to their house %26amp; she came back with lice she also has very long %26amp; thick hair. And I had to treat %26amp; comb out her hair twice. good luck Also make sure to wash blankets shirts %26amp; pillows. anything that has been near her hair if you do't they will come back. Drug stores sell a spray that comes in a arousel can cost about 6$ its for matress and furniture stuff that will not fit in the washing machine

The main problem with lice are the nits. I used to do daycare and had a little boy who brought lice in all the time.

The best thing I would suggest is to get a "licemeister" comb and go through her hair daily for a couple weeks. Make sure you toss everything she comes into contact with in the dryer for about 20 minutes, this will kill any nits on them. Also have someone go through your hair and make sure you don't have it. Everytime the kid would come into into my home with it I would get it.

Both my oldest son and I have very thick long hair, it's not fun to run the comb through, but it's better than having lice. We haven't had it since I stopped doing daycare, but it's very frustrating when it comes into your home as it is hard to get rid of. Make sure everyone is treated and run the comb through everyone's hair. Do this often until you are sure they are gone. If you are still pulling nits you still have lice in the home. Continue combing through until you've gone a few days without finding nits and you should be okay. Good luck!

Thick hair and head lice are hard to deal with. I had the same problem with my daughter when she was in after school care. Make sure you wash all her bedding, stuffed animals that she might have contact with and her clothes. You need to keep coming her head all week and then use the lice shampoo again and comb it out again. If she is in an after school care, and it happens again make sure they check all the other kids head-it happened 3 time to my daughter and they kept saying no one had them. I took her out and she never got them again. Good luck and Good Bless

My boyfriend s mother like comb my hair . I think the hairstyle that she like is behind the times.oh

Retro fashion. You know what that is? Well... All I can tell you is that a beautiful woman can be bald and still stylish . The attitude and the cloths matter. They have to match with the hairstyle for a perfect look. "Behind the times" isn't always a bad thing.

3. Wash and DEEP DEEP condition (leave condition on for 10-20 mins *rinse with COLD water for deep pentration)

4. DON'T STRESS! Hair grows! (even ours)

5. Massage your hair for 30 minutes a day and for some reason eat alot of cashews....(alot of protein make is grow faster)

Okay, to max of hair growth try braiding your hair in cornrows with syntheitc hair, it will grow faster. Keave in for 2 months and BOOM! you got 3-6 inches right there!!!

use a soft brush.

try seeing a doctor.

HAIR HELP please!!?!?!?

wat u need to do is stop perming it for a little while and cut of some of the dead ends

HAIR HELP please!!?!?!?

Condition it every other day, no shampoo. Shampoo only once a week, deep condition afterward. Use a reconstructor that is protein enriched 2x a month, a moisturizing conditioner afterward.

Just get the damaged, broken, and split ends trimmed.

The frequency of how often you get your hair chemically treated might have something to do with your current predicament, go a longer stretch of time between perms.

What type of moisturizers do you use? I use water based lotions with no petroleum or mineral oil, I rarely see breakage...

Maybe you should try giving your hair a rest by not combing it as often, you could wear braids or a wig to cut down on the stree you are causing your strands.

Combs to keep animals from shedding?

Do those combs that claim to trim and eliminate animals hair shedding less really work? Or am i better off just to buy a regular brush? Also How often should they be brushed?

Combs to keep animals from shedding?

Well, there are some who claim the Furminator is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I'm not one of them....

I had a "furmination" done at the groomers and I didn't see any difference between that and the regular grooming. So I won't spend $40 or whatever on this special brush/comb.

I use a flea comb which is excellent at getting to the undercoat especially in my long hair. I also use a regular old wire bristle brush on a regular basis.

I think these less expensive implements do a fine job.

Combs to keep animals from shedding?

There's specific brushes for cats and dogs. They won't stop the animal from shedding, but it will be that much less hair around you and your house that ends up on the brush. Plus I'm sure once used to it, they'll love getting brushed.

Combs to keep animals from shedding?

The ones that you get that help to eliminate shedding stimulate the hair follicle and cause the hair to grow slower, but won't eliminate it entirely, just less. It really just depends on how often you want to brush your pet.

Save your money and get a normal brush, and just do it every couple of days.

Combs to keep animals from shedding?

Those brushes basically remove any loose hair that is still on the dog / cat. They just seem to work because with that loose hair gone they shed less. So when they shed new hair which is constantly you will have to brush them again. and again and again.

Combs to keep animals from shedding?

They are called rakes and looks sorta like one..I use too use it on my deceased German Shepard..It worked for her.

Combs to keep animals from shedding?

you can get demaulting brushes which remove all loose undercoat hair. You can also get different potions from pet stores to combat it too!

Combs to keep animals from shedding?

I bought a cat brush for about $15 at the vet and it seems to help with shedding but to elimate it all together?? Not very possible. I brush my cats once a week or so, however often they'll let me. If they're in the mood they actually enjoy it...

Combs to keep animals from shedding?

You can't stop animals shedding. (Is that US English for moulting?) Regular grooming with a comb or brush suitable for the animal in question just reduces the amount of hair which ends up on the floor and has to be vacuumed up. For long-haired animals it's best to groom them once a day.

Combs to keep animals from shedding?

Me and my wife bought 2 different size brushes, If you look at the bristles they look like an upside down 7.They work well on our cats and our blue heeler. It doesn't stop shedding but it does help in keeping the house from looking hairy. We try and groom them once a week and it doesn't take long to do it( our cats will wait in line for their turn to get brushed). And if you have a long haired dog that stays outside it will help keep them cooler in the summer time.
